We have built large scale analytics systems that are compliant with GPDR. We will always make the argument that you can built interesting and useful analytics without using cookies or personally identifiable information.
Data Processing Systems
Wherever possible we post information directly from the client browser or application to 3rd party APIs. No proxying, no data stored temporarily on the apps or sites that we build. We let data compliance and security sit with companies much larger than us!
When we have to process user data - We use AWS and Google Cloud infrastructure encrypt all data in transit and at rest, and impliment aggressive automatic data expiry.
Cookie-free, EU based data storage.
It is absolutely possible to launch a site without a cookie banner, and we encourage you to try and do so!
The most common need for cookies are around advanced analytics, adverts, and newsletter signup systems. Many of our customers don’t need to run adverts, and find that initially a simple analytics is setup is enough.
We can utilise cookie-free systems to help keep your site clean, compliant, and fast.

For any of our customers, we recommend Send In Blue for building a GDPR compliant e-mail list and newsletter, with all data residing in the EU.
Analytics
We recommend the excellent Plausible Analytics, a simple, privacy-friendly Google Analytics alternative for GDPR complaint insights into how your site is working, cookie free. (Along with EU based data storage)
